And He said to them, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all soul, and with all your mind.'  "This is the great and foremost commandment.  "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fullfilled." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ....
 Luke 24:44-45 NASB

Atheists do not believe in God.  Which means that they choose not believe that Jesus is God in the flesh who came for the redemption of mankind.  Neither does the Jew, or the Muslim, or a Mormon, or a Jehovah's Witness, except an atheist chooses to ignore the existence of God.  As if ignoring God will make Him go away.

I am writing this page to one specific person whom I love as a daughter.  After we were introduced, she brought up in conversation that she is an atheist.  She is a dear friend of our family.  Me and my wife love this young lady as if she were our own daughter.  But what can I do?  I cannot save myself much less another person.  All I can do is point this young lady to the One who does save; Jesus.  That is all any Christian can do.  It takes the Living God to open the hearts and minds of people to see who He is in their life.  My job is simply to pray for her salvation and just be a light for her to Christ.  So this page is my conversation with this friend of our family about the Living God.

The key question that you must answer for yourself is who is Jesus?  As a Christian, I know that Jesus is God.  The Father is God.  The Holy Spirit is God.  All three parts of God work together as one God and each part of God interacts with mankind in different ways.

Why would Almighty God take on the flesh of fallen man and present Himself to the world as the Lamb?  This is His redemption plan.

What reason would move the Creator of heaven and earth to allow mankind to fall and then step into this fallen creation?  Love for you.

Man is made in the image of the Living God.  God is holy.  God is righteous.  Mortal man can not understand the complete scope of the holiness and righteousness of God.  Mortal man cannot grasp the concept of God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit all wrapped up in one person, but that is the reality of the situation so man must deal with it.

God's image inside each human being is worth redemption.  I am referring to the spirit inside each human being.  Each person has worth and value because of this spirit inside our mortal flesh.  Our flesh will die some day, but our spirit will continue for eternity.  This death was the result of man's disobedience and Jesus defeated death when He was raised from the dead.

God originally created man (male and female) a little lower than the angels.  God allowed man's dominion on earth to be taken away.  God allowed death to enter into humanity.  God did this because He has a plan.  God is in control.  God's plan is to adopt those who call upon the name of Jesus and raise them up above all creation and above the realm of angels to be His children for eternity.

John 14:1-7
1 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are many dwelling places;if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And you know the way where I am going."
5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?"
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."

Jesus is the Lamb of God for the redemption of all mankind and He allows a man to be adopted as a child of the Living God if that person will accept Jesus as the Lamb.  The Lamb of God comes from the system of worship God provided to the nation of Israel with the tabernacle.  Jesus raises a person from a position as a fallen human up above the angelic realm by grace.  Jesus put an end to death in the spirit by His power.  I use the term man in the sense of male and female which is how God talks about man in Genesis 5.

Genesis 5:1-2
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God
2 He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created.

If a man does not believe in God and does not see other humans made in the image of the Living God, then how can that person value human life?  God sees the homeless man and the billionaire as equals because both people are made in His image.  God ascribes worth to humanity above all His creation.  God loves all His creation.  As a parent, I love my child enough to set boundaries for his behavior because I love my kids who are made in my image.

Genesis 9:12-13
12 God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations
13 I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth

My dog has a personality.  My dog has a brain, but man and beast are different.  What makes this difference?  I believe it is the Spirit of the Living God represented inside each human being.  My cute little puppy dog is not made in the image of the Living God.  I am.  All creation has suffered by the fall of mankind, but it is for a greater good.  God is in control.  You must trust in God.  You must believe that God will bring about the greater good.  It takes time, but God has established a day.

Atheists refer to science and critical thinking as if they they are the only people on earth who use facts and thought.  It is disturbing to hear atheists talk about people like me who believe that Jesus is God inside human flesh as superstitious, brain washed and unable to process thought.  I ask you to be honest with yourself.  Look at this world and ask yourself 'what is going on?'.  Look at people and really see who they are.  Jesus takes a person out of themselves and teaches them to love others.  That concept is 180 degrees different than anything else on earth.  People typically are self-centered and self-righteous.  Jesus teaches to love your neighbor as yourself.

The rainbow is one thing I ask an atheist to consider.  Why does it exist?  Why does a female human experience child birth pain?  Why does it exist?  Why does the nation of Israel exist when countless other much stronger nations have fallen and disappeared from history?  Why does it exist?  Why do we have a seven day week?  Why does it exist?  These all point to the Living God. You will be held accountable for your soul before God for why you did not come to Him based upon the rainbow, child birth pain, Israel, and even the week.

Matthew 15:18-20
18 But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man."

I am not a Christian because I am smarter than anyone else.  I believe in Jesus as the Christ because I have a personal relationship with God that is more real than any human relationship I will ever experience.  I did not figure salvation out.  I answered the call I felt on my heart and submitted myself to the Living God.  It is not about me, but all about Him.  He called me. He loved me. He saved me.  How can I explain my relationship with the Living God to a person who denies His existence?  If you read your bible, you will see that Jesus went against those who walked in self-righteousness.  At times, it was the religious leaders who were the most educated and best behaved of all the people.  Other times it was the disciples following Jesus around every day.  You must come to God in humility.

It is disturbing to hear atheists talk about a loving God who would judge His creation as if that judgment was a bad thing.  Who is man to judge God?  If I want to cut the sleeves off my shirt, it is my shirt and I can do with it as I see fit.  I believe my God created all things which includes the universe, this planet, angels, people, animals, plants, etc.  That also includes everything from science, mathematics, music and critical thinking.  If God chooses to make judgment on a people for their actions, this world is His creation and He can do with as He wants.  Who are you to judge God?  When God flooded the earth, the people were wicked.  When God judged the people living in the land of Israel, they were wicked.  It is His shirt (His creation) and He can do with it as He sees fit.

Deuteronomy 18:12-14
12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you.
13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.
14 For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so.

It is disturbing to hear atheists talk about Christians as if we can not understand scientific principals.  Science is suppose to based upon facts.  Scientists who do not believe in God preach theories as fact and then mask their unproved opinions with the title of science.  Evolutionary theory can not explain the giraffe, the gecko, the woodpecker, the worm, fireflies, glowworms, Emperor Penguins, Blue Whales, beavers, bears, hippos, elephants, spiders, etc.  These are just a few of the creatures all around mankind that can only be explained by the creation of God.

People who get all wrapped up in religion are just as bad as those people who mask theory as science.  Some atheists have organized themselves into groups called Humanists.  These groups operate like a religious organization, but they do not want to be called a church.  They define themselves as a group of people focused on philosophy and ethics to emphasize the value of human beings.  A rose by any other name is still a rose.  When I listen to humanists speak, the majority of the conversation is not about raising up the human race, but it is about tearing down any belief in God.  You must decide for yourself.  Listen to the content for yourself and make up your own mind.  Open a good translation of the bible (either the New King James Version or the New American Standard Version) and read the Word of God for yourself.  Your eternal existence rests upon your decision.

God talks about fear of the Lord in the bible over and over.  Man must have reverence for God to have a relationship with Him.  Man must understand that man is made in God's image and that is what makes man worth saving.  My puppy dog is cute, but she is just a creature with a brain and a personality.  What if my puppy evolved the ability to talk and proceeded to tell me that I needed to get a second job to make more money so that I can buy her better dog food.  That would be disrespectful considering the fact that I rescued that puppy from the pound and certain death.  I have fed this dog every day of her life since redemption and allowed that puppy to live in my house.  Is it any different for a man who can put his entire brain in a gallon bucket to say to God that He does not exist.  Wow.  How disrespectful to talk to the Creator of heaven and earth as if man were His equal.  How disrespectful for the clay to dismiss the hand of the potter.  God's hand established the greatness of our universe and the smallness of our sub-atomic particles.  Think about this; mankind is still finding unidentified creatures in the ocean and man dares to talk about the Creator as if He is not in control.  Wow.

Deuteronomy 17:18-20
18 "Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.
19 It shall be with him and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, by carefully observing all the words of this law and these statutes,
20 that his heart may not be lifted up above his countrymen and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or the left, so that he and his sons may continue long in his kingdom in the midst of Israel.

If you do not understand that you are made in the image of God and that you must come to God with reverence by the way of Jesus as the Christ, then you are similar to an animal with one very important exception.  The one exception is that my dog with cease to exist upon death and the spirit of a man will continue into eternity.  Man is made in God's image.  God is eternal.  You had a start date when you were born, but you will not have an end date.  The question is where will you spend that eternity?

Three points for an atheist to consider about this world;
1) Why do female women experience childbirth pain unlike any other female of all creation?
2) Why does the rainbow just appear when it rains?
3) Why does the nation of Israel occupy that land or even exist as a people?

I referenced these earlier and also included the concept of the seven day week which I feel falls into another category beyond the physical points above.  A day is the rotation of the earth.  A month is the moon circling the earth.  A year is the earth circling the sun.  Where did the week come from?  It came from God and the creation story.  And on the seventh day God rested.

Acts 26:12-20
12 "While so engaged as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests,
13 at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me.
14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
15 And I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
16 But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you;
17 rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you,
18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.'
19 "So, King Agrippa, I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision,
20 but kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.
