And He said to them, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all soul, and with all your mind.'  "This is the great and foremost commandment.  "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fullfilled." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ....
 Luke 24:44-45 NASB

Paul wrote in Philippians 2:12 that men should work out their salvation with fear and trembling.  Please take that advice to heart as you embark on the journey of teaching God's Word to mankind.  Below are key verses I reference as a guide for any new teacher or preacher of the Word.

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Luke 9:12-13
12 Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place."
13 But He said to them, "You give them something to eat!" And they said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people."

John 11:43-44
43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth."
44 The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."

Exodus 35:30-35
30 Then Moses said to the sons of Israel, "See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
31 And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship;
32 to make designs for working in gold and in silver and in bronze,
33 and in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood, so as to perform in every inventive work
34 He also has put in his heart to teach, both he and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
35 He has filled them with skill to perform every work of an engraver and of a designer and of an embroiderer, in blue and in purple and in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and of a weaver, as performers of every work and makers of designs.

Daniel 2:30
But as for me, this mystery has not been revealed to me for any wisdom residing in me more than in any other living man, but for the purpose of making the interpretation known to the king, and that you may understand the thoughts of your mind.

Psalm 25:14
The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant.

Deuteronomy 29:26-29
26 They went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they have not known and whom He had not allotted to them.
27 Therefore, the anger of the Lord burned against that land, to bring upon it every curse which is written in this book;
28 and the Lord uprooted them from their land in anger and in fury and in great wrath, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.'
29 "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law

Exodus 19:20-22
20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, "Go down, warn the people, so that they do not break through to the Lord to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 Also let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves, or else the Lord will break out against them."

Exodus 14:13-15
13 But Moses said to the people, "Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.
14 The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent."
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward

Luke 24:44-49
44 Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures
46 and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

Perspective is everything.  Perspective is a gift from God.  Perspective is God opening the eyes of the blind to see that I am a sinner saved by His grace.  In Luke 24, these Jewish men who grew up in Jewish tradition and worshiped in the temple did not understand what was happening.  These Jewish men who witnessed miracles from feeding thousands to raising the dead, did not understand the most significant religious event in the entire history of all mankind and it was right before them.  God had to open their eyes and give them perspective.  Jesus referenced the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms as a road map to Him and these men could not understand without the help of God Himself.  Remember that fact as you teach men.  It takes the hand of God to open the eyes of the blind.

Exodus 14:15 is one of my favorite verses.  In the midst of great miracles, mankind does not understand the simple fact that God wants man to walk with Him.  Hey Christian; why are you crying out to God?  Walk with Him and He will take care of the things that are making you cry out.  Consider this in light of Exodus 19 where God says to warn the people.  Then God gives a extremely important piece of information; the priests must consecrate themselves or else the Lord will breakout against them.  You heard it right, in ministry you will either walk with God or God will walk over you.  This is God's house and we are invited to eat with Him.  This is God's business and He allows you to get involved in His work.  If you think for a second that you are taking over His business by stealing His glory, then you will be crushed.

Daniel 2, Psalm 25 and Deuteronomy 29 deals with the mysterious side of the Living God.  The secret things belong to God, but He reveals them to His chosen because He loves mankind.  The key to getting involved in the secret things of God is to fear Him.  You must approach God in the right way or die.  Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the Life; no man comes to the Father, but through Him.  You must approach God the Father by Jesus, God the Son, as the Christ or you will die forever.  That is the most secret thing of all things.  Today we shout that fact from the rooftops, but people do not understand because mankind does not have a healthy fear the Living God.  You can think of fear as respect or reverence.  David was afraid of God as recorded in 1 Chronicles 13:12.  1 Chronicles 21:30 describes how David was terrified of the sword in the hand of the Angel of the Lord.  The Angel of the Lord is Jesus before He took on this flesh suit.  In Galatians 1:18, Paul describes how it took him three years of exile to come to terms with God after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus as recorded in Acts 9.

Matthew 28, Luke 9, John 11 and Exodus 35 all show God's instruction and God's provision to fulfill His commandments.  Hey Christian; you go make disciples.  Hey Christian; you give them food to eat.  Hey Christian; you unbind the dead.  Hey Christian; watch the Spirit of God as He blesses you with His power to accomplish His tasks by the name of Jesus.  Only God can make disciples, but He tells us to go mix it up in the lives of people so we can see Him work.  Only God provides bread from heaven, but He tells us to take what you have and apply it with faith in His provision.  Only God can remove the death clothes from a man, but God allows us to be His hands to remove the stench of death from a man as he becomes a Living Being as an adopted child of the Living God.  Thank you Jesus for allowing us to get involved in Your work.  God is good!
