Now He said to them, "These
are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all
things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and
the
Prophets and the Psalms must be fullfilled." Then
He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ....
Luke 24:44-45 NASB
Jesus is God,
the Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God. Jesus said that
He is God which is why the Jews wanted to kill Him. Man can not kill
God. Jesus submitted Himself to death to redeem mankind from death
because Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive right now in heaven
at the right hand of the Father. I have various groups knock on my
door and it breaks my heart to see these self-righteous people trying to
earn their salvation while rejecting what Jesus said about Himself and
going door to door spreading lies.
Below are a few passages
that support the fact that Jesus is God. Please take a few moments
and read for yourself what God says about Himself. Do not get caught
up in religion. Remember that the Pharisees and Sadducees were
very religious people. John the Baptist and Jesus both
called them a brood of vipers. Jesus went on to say that the religious
leaders were children of the devil. I beg you to seek a personal
relationship with the Living God with a humble heart and willing mind because
your eternal existence rests on Who you say that Jesus is. I tell
you that Jesus is God who was born in the flesh to be our redeemer.
Jesus is represented by various titles such as Immanuel, the Son of Man,
the Son of God, the Word, the Angel of the Lord, the Angel of God, the
Commander of the Lord's Host, the Prince of Peace, the Rock, the Stone
cut without hands, the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, etc.
The Holy Spirit is known as the Truth, Wisdom, the Helper, etc.
Below are verses
from the New American Standard Bible which has proven to be one
of the most reliable translations from the original Hebrew and Greek for
our English language today. Cults have two things in common.
First, they deny that Jesus is God. Second, they say the bible is
altered. In 1947, a young Arab was herding sheep near the Dead Sea
south of Jerico when he found a cave with fragments with over 600 manuscripts
which was called the Dead Sea Scrolls. This find confirmed that the
Old Testament biblical texts we use today are 100% reliable. Groups
who say that the bible has been altered have been proven wrong, but they
keep on telling the same false message. These groups include the
Jehovah's Witness started in 1879, the Mormons started in 1830, the Nation
of Islam founded in 1930, Islam founded in 622, etc. What does your
religion say about Jesus? How does that compare to what Jesus said
about Himself? What does your group say about the Dead Sea Scrolls?
How does your religious book compare to the Dead Sea Scrolls?
Jesus said
that the religious leaders who rejected Him are liars and that He is the
I AM.
John 8:53-59
53 Surely You are not greater than
our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died too; whom do You make Yourself
out to be?"
54 Jesus answered, "If
I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing;
it
is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you
say, 'He is our God';
55 and you
have not come to know Him, but I know Him;
and
if I say that I do not know Him, I will
be a liar like you, but I do know Him
and keep His word.
56 Your father
Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw
it and was glad."
57 So the Jews said to Him, "You
are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"
58 Jesus said to them, "Truly,
truly,
I
say to you,
before Abraham was born,
I
am."
59 Therefore they picked up stones
to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.
Jesus says
that He and the Father are one.
John 10:24-33
24 The Jews then gathered around
Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If
You are the Christ, tell us plainly."
25 Jesus answered them, "I
told you, and you do not believe; the
works that I do in My Father's name, these
testify of Me.
26 But you
do not believe because you are not of My sheep.
27 My sheep
hear My voice, and I know them, and
they follow Me;
28 and I give
eternal life to them, and they will never
perish; and no one will snatch them out of
My hand.
29 My Father,
who
has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and
no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
30 I and
the Father are one."
31 The Jews picked up stones again
to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered them, "I
showed you many good works from the Father; for
which of them are you stoning Me?"
33 The Jews answered Him, "For a
good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You,
being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
John 10:37-39
37 If
I do not do the works of My Father, do
not believe Me;
38 but
if I do them, though
you do not believe Me, believe the works,
so
that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me,
and
I in the Father."
39 Therefore
they
were seeking again to seize Him, and He eluded their grasp.
The Lord speaks
to Moses face to face from the pillar of the cloud. So Who
is Moses talking to in verses 17-23 below?
Exodus 33:9-11
9 Whenever Moses entered the tent,
the
pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent;
and the Lord would speak with Moses.
10 When all the people saw the pillar
of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would arise
and worship, each at the entrance of his tent.
11 Thus the Lord used to speak
to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses
returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man,
would not depart from the tent.
The Lord speaks
to Moses but here He says that no man can see His face and live.
So Who spoke to Moses in verses 9-11 above?
Exodus 33:17-23
17 The Lord said to Moses, "I
will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for
you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name."
18 Then Moses said, "I pray You,
show me Your glory!"
19 And He said, "I
Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and
will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and
I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and
will show compassion on whom I will show compassion."
20 But He said, "You
cannot see My face, for no man can
see Me and live!"
21 Then the Lord said, "Behold,
there
is a place by Me, and you shall stand there
on the rock;
22 and it will
come about, while My glory is passing by,
that
I
will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until
I have passed by.
23 Then I will
take My hand away and you shall see My back, but
My
face shall not be seen."
Who was in the pillar
of cloud? The Lord was leading Israel from inside the pillar
of the cloud.
Exodus 13:21-22
21 The Lord was going before them
in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar
of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and
by night.
22 He did not take away the pillar
of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Who was in the pillar
of cloud? The Angel of God is described as being inside the
pillar of cloud.
Exodus 14:19-20
19 The angel of God, who had
been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the
pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.
20 So it came between the camp of
Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness,
yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the other all
night.
Jesus is the
Son of God. God the Spirit descended upon God the Son and He was
proclaimed by God the Father.
John 1:32-34
32 John testified saying, "I have
seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained
upon Him.
33 I did not recognize Him, but He
who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'He upon whom you see the
Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes
in the Holy Spirit.'
34 I myself have seen, and have testified
that this is the Son of God."
Luke 3:21-22
21 Now when all the people were baptized,
Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened,
22 and the Holy Spirit descended
upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven,
"You are My beloved Son, in
You I am well-pleased."
Jesus is the
Son of Man and the Son of God. The title of Son of Man refers
to His flesh and the title Son of God refers to His diety.
Luke 22:66-71
66 When it
was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests
and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,
67 "If You
are the Christ, tell us." But He said to them, "If
I tell you, you will not believe;
68 and
if I ask a question, you will not answer.
69 But
from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the
power of God."
70 And they
all said, "Are You the Son of God, then?" And He said to them, "Yes,
I am."
71 Then they
said, "What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it
ourselves from His own mouth."
Jesus was
the Word, but now His name is Jesus since His birth in the flesh to the
virgin Mary.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things came into being through
Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into
being.
4 In Him was life, and the
life was the Light of men.
5 The Light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Notice how the Spirit
of God is set apart in the second sentence of Genesis. God told
Moses what to write in Genesis.
Genesis 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created
the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was formless and void,
and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God
was moving over the surface of the waters.
Notice how God distinguishes
Himself in a plural nature using Us and Our. Then God makes
man in His image.
Genesis 1:26-27
26 Then God said, "Let Us make
man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them
rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the
cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps
on the earth."
27 God created man in His own
image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created
them.
Jesus is the
Word made flesh. Mankind is fallen and God's plan has always
been to enter into His creation to redeem man to Himself.
John 1:10-14
10 He was in the world, and the
world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, and those
who were His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to
them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who
believe in His name,
13 who were born, not of blood
nor
of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of
God.
14 And the Word became flesh,
and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten
from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus is the
only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father.
John 1:17-18
17 For the Law was given through
Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
18 No one has seen God at any time;
the
only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained
Him.
You will see in Exodus
33:20 that no man can see God's face and live. So, in the verse below
Who
is Abraham talking with?
Genesis 18:17-19
17 The Lord said, "Shall I hide from
Abraham what I am about to do,
18 since Abraham will surely become
a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth will
be blessed?
19 For I have chosen him,
so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep
the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the
Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him."
The Angel of the
Lord reveals Himself to Hagar. Hagar is a lowly servant girl
and not a great king or prophet.
Genesis 21:17
God heard the lad crying;
and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her,
"What is the matter with you, Hagar?
Do
not fear, for God has heard the voice
of the lad where he is.
The Angel of the
Lord speaks to Abraham and calls Himself Lord. Abraham testifies
that God will provide for Himself the Lamb of God.
Genesis 22:7-18
7 Isaac spoke to Abraham his father
and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold,
the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
8 Abraham said, "God will provide
for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of
them walked on together.
9 Then they came to the place of which
God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood,
and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
10 Abraham stretched out his hand
and took the knife to slay his son.
11 But the angel of the Lord
called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham,
Abraham!"
And he said, "Here I am."
12 He said, "Do
not stretch out your hand against the lad, and
do nothing to him; for now I know that you
fear God, since you have not withheld your
son, your only son, from
Me."
13 Then Abraham raised his eyes and
looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns;
and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering
in the place of his son.
14 Abraham called the name of that
place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of
the Lord it will be provided."
15 Then the angel of the Lord
called to Abraham a second time from heaven,
16 and said, "By
Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord,
because
you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your
only son,
17 indeed I
will greatly bless you, and I will greatly
multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is
on the seashore; and your seed shall possess
the gate of their enemies.
18 In your
seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because
you have obeyed My voice."
The Angel of the
Lord speaks to Moses from the burning bush and says that He is God.
This is Jesus before He was born of the flesh.
Exodus 3:2-6
2 The angel of the Lord appeared
to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold,
the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.
3 So Moses said, "I must turn aside
now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up."
4 When the Lord saw that he
turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush
and said, "Moses, Moses!"
And he said, "Here I am."
5 Then He said, "Do
not come near here; remove your sandals from
your feet, for the place on which you are
standing is holy ground."
6 He said also, "I
am the God of your father, the God of
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and
the God of Jacob." Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to
look at God.
The Captain of
the Host of the Lord tells Joshua he was standing on holy ground just
like Moses at the burning bush. This is also Jesus.
Joshua 5:13-15
13 Now it came about when Joshua
was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a
man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and
Joshua went to him and said to him, "Are you for us or for our adversaries?"
14 He said, "No;
rather
I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord." And
Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him,
"What has my lord to say to his servant?"
15 The captain of the Lord's host
said to Joshua, "Remove your sandals from your feet,
for
the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.
Moses says that the
name of the Lord is the Rock! Daniel tells us about a stone
cut without hands. Both the rock and stone represent Jesus.
Deuteronomy 32:3-5
3 "For I proclaim the name of
the Lord; Ascribe greatness to our God!
4 "The Rock! His work
is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness
and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.
5 "They have acted corruptly toward
Him, They are not His children, because of their defect; But are
a perverse and crooked generation.
Daniel says that
the Rock is the stone cut without hands and God gives mankind a
timeframe when He will come into His creation.
Daniel 2:44-45
44 In the days of those kings the
God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed,
and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and
put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
45 Inasmuch as you saw that a
stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed
the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God
has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream
is true and its interpretation is trustworthy."
Jesus is the
resurrection, the life, the Christ, and the Son of God.
John 11:25-27
25 Jesus said to her, "I
am the resurrection and the life; he who
believes in Me will live even if he dies,
26 and everyone
who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do
you believe this?"
27 She said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I
have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who
comes into the world."
Jesus is the
way to the Father. Jesus is in God the Father and God the Father
is in Jesus.
John 14:6-11
6 Jesus said to him, "I
am the way, and the truth,
and
the
life; no one comes to the Father but
through Me.
7 If you had
known Me, you would have known My Father
also; from now on you know Him, and
have seen Him."
8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show
us the Father, and it is enough for us."
9 Jesus said to him, "Have
I been so long with you, and yet you have
not come to know Me, Philip? He
who has seen Me has seen the Father; how
can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
10 Do you not
believe that I am in the Father, and
the
Father is in Me? The words that
I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but
the Father abiding in Me does His works.
11 Believe
Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise
believe because of the works themselves.
Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of the Living God.
John 20:28-31
28 And Thomas answered and said unto
him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas,
because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have
not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did
Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that
ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name.
Matthew 16:13-17
13 Now when
Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
14 And they
said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others,
Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."
15 He said
to them, "But who do you say that I
am?"
16 Simon Peter
answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 And Jesus
said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona,
because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is
in heaven.
Mark 1:1
The beginning
of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus is the
Son of Man taught by the Father.
John 8:23-29
23 And He was saying to them, "You
are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am
not of this world.
24 Therefore
I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe
that I am He, you will die in your sins."
25 So they were saying to Him, "Who
are You?" Jesus said to them, "What have I been saying
to you from the beginning?
26 I have many
things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true;
and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world."
27 They did not realize that He had
been speaking to them about the Father.
28 So Jesus said, "When
you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He,
and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the
Father taught Me.
29 And He
who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the
things that are pleasing to Him."
The name Jesus
. . . see to it that you are not misled . . .
Luke 21:5-9
5 And while some were talking about
the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts,
He said,
6 "As for these
things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will
not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down."
7 They questioned Him, saying, "Teacher,
when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when
these things are about to take place?"
8 And He said, "See
to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying,
'I am He,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not go after them.
9 When you
hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must
take place first, but the end does not follow immediately."
At the name of Jesus
every
knee will bow . . .
Philippians 2:5-11
5 Have this attitude in yourselves
which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, although He existed in
the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the
form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
8 Being found in appearance as
a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
9 For this reason also, God highly
exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus
every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under
the earth,
11 and that every tongue will
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus says
beware false prophets and those who practice lawlessness.
Matthew 7:15-23
15 "Beware
of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
are ravenous wolves.
16 You will
know them by their fruits. Grapes are
not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
17 So every
good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree
cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
19 Every
tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 So then,
you will know them by their fruits.
21 "Not
everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but
he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will
say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your
name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name
perform many miracles?'
23 And then
I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice
lawlessness.'
Jesus: how
majestic is your name in all the earth!
Psalms 8
1 O Lord, our Lord, How majestic
is Your name in all the earth,
Who have displayed Your splendor
above the heavens!
2 From the mouth of infants and nursing
babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make
the enemy and the revengeful cease.
3 When I consider Your heavens, the
work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
4 What is man that You take thought
of him, And the son of man that You care for him?
5 Yet You have made him a little
lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty!
6 You make him to rule over the works
of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen, And also the
beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the heavens and the
fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord, How majestic
is Your name in all the earth!
Jesus is Him
whom Moses and the Prophets wrote about.
John 1:45
Philip found Nathanael and said to
him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets
wrote - Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."
Luke 24:44-48
44 Now He said to them, "These
are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that
all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the
Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
45 Then He opened their minds to
understand the Scriptures,
46 and He said to them, "Thus
it is written, that the Christ would suffer
and rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that
repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name
to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are
witnesses of these things.
Jesus is the
Son of God and King of Israel.
John 1:49
Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You
are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel."
Jesus is the
Son of Man from heaven.
John 3:13-15
13 No one has
ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son
of Man.
14 As Moses
lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be
lifted up;
15 so that
whoever
believes will in Him have eternal life.
Jesus is the
Son of God from above speaking the words of God.
John 3:31-36
31 "He who comes from above is
above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the
earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
32 What He has seen and heard, of
that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.
33 He who has received His testimony
has set his seal to this, that God is true.
34 For He whom God has sent speaks
the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.
35 The Father loves the Son and
has given all things into His hand.
36 He who believes in the Son
has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but
the wrath of God abides on him."
Jesus is the
blood which sanctifies man.
1 Peter 1:1-5
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia,
Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen
2 according to the foreknowledge
of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to
obey
Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be
yours in the fullest measure.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to
be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead,
4 to obtain an inheritance which
is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven
for you,
5 who are protected by the power
of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Above are the writings
of Peter, Paul, John and Matthew who were called as apostles by Jesus Himself
to witness that Immanuel came to earth. Above are also the
writings of Dr. Luke, Daniel, Moses and David. False religions
simply deny that Jesus is God. Jesus said that He is God.
The Jews wanted to kill Him because He said that He is God. The
entire book of John is dedicated to showing that Jesus is God.
Man (male and female)
are made in the image of the Living God. God is eternal.
The day you were
born was the start of your eternal existence which is beyond this life
of the flesh.
When a Man dies,
his spirit does not stop existing. That is why suicide is such
a terrible lie.
Upon death, the
flesh of Man stops, but the spirit of Man lives on because Man is made
in God's image.
The question is
where will Man spend eternity? Call upon Jesus (Immanuel - God
with us) and spend eternity in heaven.
The first step in
getting well, is to recognize that you are sick. Man must recognize
that he is a sinner in need of a Savior.
Jesus is God with
mankind, hence the name Immanuel. Jesus submitted Himself
to be the Lamb of God sent to save the world.
Jesus is the Messiah.
Messiah is Hebrew when translated into Greek is Christ. He is also
called the Anointed One.
Only God can open
the eyes of the blind. A man must seek God with a whole heart
and a willing mind to see Jesus. God does not care about the doctrines
of men, but scripture does tell us that God gets angry when men teach
as
doctrines of God the simple precepts of men. A group of
scribes called the Essenes copied ancient texts before the fall of Jerusalem
in 70. These copies were hidden in a cave near the Dead Sea.
These copies included fragments of all the Old Testament except the book
of Esther. These copies predated the oldest Hebrew manuscripts by
1000 years. Again I ask you, how does your religious book compare
to the Dead Sea Scrolls?
Below are a few verses
from the gospel of Mark who testifies that Jesus is God as the Son of
God and the Son of Man. Mark also really paints a clear picture
that the Jewish disciples had trouble understanding that Jesus as the Christ.
This concept is beyond man to understand so do not get frustrated.
It takes the Holy Spirit of the Living God to open your eyes and see Jesus
as God. You must come to God in the way that He prescribes for Him
to give you the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew was
written to a Jewish audience for the purpose ot proving that Jesus is the
Messiah promised to Israel. Mark was written to a Gentile
audience. Luke and the book of Acts were written to
Dr. Luke's friend Theophilus for the purpose to providing a detailed account
of Jesus' life so that his friend would know the truth. John
was written to the world for the purpose of proving that Jesus is the Living
God born of the flesh and walking among mankind.
Mark 2:5-11
5 And Jesus
seeing
their faith said to the paralytic, "Son,
your sins are forgiven."
6 But some
of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
7 "Why does
this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God
alone?"
8 Immediately
Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within
themselves, said to them, "Why are you
reasoning about these things in your hearts?
9 Which
is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven'; or to say,
'Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk'?
10 But
so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth
to forgive sins" - He said to the paralytic,
11 "I
say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home."
Mark 2:27-28
27 Jesus said
to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and
not man for the Sabbath.
28 So
the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
Mark 3:28-30
28 "Truly
I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever
blasphemies they utter;
29 but
whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness,
but is guilty of an eternal sin"-
30 because
they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."
Mark 4:11-12
11 And He was
saying to them, "To you has been given
the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything
in parables,
12 so
that while seeing, they may see and not perceive, and while hearing,
they may hear and not understand, otherwise they might return and
be forgiven."
Mark 4:38-41
38 Jesus Himself
was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to
Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
39 And He got
up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush,
be still." And the wind died down and it became
perfectly calm.
40 And He said
to them, "Why are you afraid?
Do
you still have no faith?"
41 They became
very much afraid and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even
the wind and the sea obey Him?
Mark 6:48-52
48 Seeing them
straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth
watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended
to pass by them.
49 But when
they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed that it was a ghost, and
cried out;
50 for they
all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with
them and said to them, "Take courage; it is
I, do not be afraid."
51 Then He
got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were
utterly astonished,
52 for they
had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their
heart was hardened.
Mark 7:6-8
6 And He said
to them, "Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you
hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people
honors Me with their lips,
But their heart
is far away from Me.
7 'But
in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'
8 Neglecting
the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men."
Mark 7:20-23
20 And He was
saying, "That which proceeds out of the man,
that is what defiles the man.
21 For
from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts,
fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,
22 deeds
of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander,
pride and foolishness.
23 All
these evil things proceed from within and defile the man."
Mark 8:15-17
15 And He was
giving orders to them, saying, "Watch out!
Beware
of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."
16 They began
to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.
17 And Jesus,
aware
of this, said to them, "Why do you discuss
the fact that you have no bread? Do
you not yet see or understand? Do
you have a hardened heart?
Mark 8:29-33
29 And He continued
by questioning them, "But who do you say
that I am?" Peter answered and said to
Him, "You are the Christ."
30 And He
warned them to tell no one about Him.
31 And He began
to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected
by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed,
and after three days rise again.
32 And He
was stating the matter plainly. And Peter took Him aside and began
to rebuke Him.
33 But turning
around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, "Get
behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests,
but man's."
Mark 8:38
For whoever
is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation,
the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the
glory of His Father with the holy angels."
Mark 9:7-9
7 Then a cloud
formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This
is My beloved Son, listen to Him!"
8 All at once
they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus
alone.
9 As they were
coming down from the mountain, He gave them orders not to relate to anyone
what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.
Mark 9:31-32
31 For He was
teaching His disciples and telling them, "The
Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill
Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later."
32 But they
did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Him.
Mark 10:13-16
13 And they
were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples
rebuked them.
14 But when
Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit
the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these.
15
Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a
child will not enter it at all."
16 And He took
them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.
Mark 11:27-28
27 They came
again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the
chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him,
28 and began
saying to Him, "By what authority are You doing these things, or
who
gave You this authority to do these things?"
Mark 12:24
Jesus said
to them, "Is this not the reason you are mistaken,
that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God?
Mark 12:27
He is not the
God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken."
Mark 12:35-27
35 And Jesus
began to say, as He taught in the temple, "How
is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
36 David
himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The
Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Until I put Your enemies
beneath Your feet."'
37 David
himself calls Him 'Lord'; so in what sense is He his son?"
And the large crowd enjoyed listening to Him.
Mark 13:5-6
5 And Jesus
began to say to them, "See to it that no
one misleads you.
6 Many
will come in My name, saying, 'I am He!' and will mislead many.
Mark 14:1-2
1 Now the Passover
and Unleavened Bread were two days away; and the chief priests and
the scribes were seeking how to seize Him by stealth and kill Him;
2 for they
were saying, "Not during the festival, otherwise there might be a riot
of the people."
Mark 14:24-25
24 And He said
to them, "This is My blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many.
25 Truly
I say to you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that
day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
Mark 14:61-65
61 But He kept
silent and did not answer. Again the high priest was questioning
Him, and saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed
One?"
62 And Jesus
said, "I am; and you shall see the
Son
of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds
of heaven."
63 Tearing
his clothes, the high priest said, "What further need do we have of witnesses?
64 You have
heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?" And they all
condemned Him to be deserving of death.
65 Some began
to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists,
and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the officers received Him with slaps
in the face.
Mark 15:1-3
1 Early in
the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes and the whole
Council, immediately held a consultation; and binding Jesus, they led Him
away and delivered Him to Pilate.
2 Pilate questioned
Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answered him, "It
is as you say."
3 The chief
priests began to accuse Him harshly.
Mark 15:31-33
31 In the same
way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were mocking Him among
themselves and saying, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself.
32 Let this
Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we
may see and believe!" Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting
Him.
33 When the
sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth
hour.
Mark 15:37-39
37 And Jesus
uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last.
38 And the
veil
of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 When the
centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way He breathed
His last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!"
Mark 16:11-16
11 When they
heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe
it.
12 After that,
He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking
along on their way to the country.
13 They went
away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.
14 Afterward
He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table;
and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15 And He said
to them, "Go into all the world and preach
the gospel to all creation.
16 He
who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved;
but
he
who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
Man is saved by the
grace
of God and this salvation can not be earned by your deeds, but only
given as a gift from God.
Ephesians
2:1-10
1 And you were
dead in your trespasses and sins,
2 in which
you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working
in the sons of disobedience.
3 Among them
we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires
of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even
as the rest.
4 But God,
being
rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when
we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ
(by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised
us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ
Jesus,
7 so that in
the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in
kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by
grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God;
9 not as a
result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are
His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Titus 3:1-7
1 Remind them
to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for
every good deed,
2 to malign
no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
3 For we
also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various
lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful,
hating one another.
4 But when
the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5 He saved
us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness,
but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing
by the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured
out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being
justified
by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal
life.
